On June 26th he was elected by the General Meeting of Shareholders as the new President of the prestigious Bodegas Protos.
Family ties to the winery since he was born, as a direct descendant of one of the founding members of PROTOS in 1927, has also been linked to it professionally since 1970. In PROTOS has held several senior positions, was previously president from 1990 to 1993 and member of the Board of Directors since 2007.
Edmundo Bayon is graduated in the School of Agronomist Engineers in Madrid.
During the period 1996 to 2007, he served as General Managerof Agricultural Structures and subsequently as manager of Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture of CAstilla y Leon government.
